The University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) is a public university located in Somanya in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of Ghana's Eastern Region. Established by UESD Act 898 in 2015 and inaugurated in August 2020, it is one of Ghana's newest public universities. UESD specializes in environmental science, sustainable development, natural resource management, and the built environment, with a mission to produce graduates equipped to address environmental and sustainable development challenges locally and globally. The university operates through two main schools: the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences (SNES) and the School of Sustainable Development (SSD).
